We are very happy and proud to announce that Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi awarded our founder and our Guruji (Dr Vishwas Mandlik) the first yoga award in India for his outstanding contribution towards the promotion and development of Yoga for the year 2018. We are all very happy and proud of this achievement of our beloved Guruji.

Yoga Activities

Understanding the need to spread deeper aspects of yoga to reduce suffering we started uploading different yoga philosophies and practices on YouTube free for all.

As we couldn't have residential courses we started online courses. Starting in August 2020 we have now completed 8 TTC courses, 6 Therapy courses, 6 Pre & Post Natal TTC, 7 Yoga Psychology Courses, 1 Childrens TTC, 1 Advanced Pranayam TTC, 2 YCB Level II courses. 2 new online courses including Meditation Teacher Training and YCB Level III have also just been announced.

It has certainly kept us very busy and has been a great way for students to learn more from their own homes, impacting not only themselves but also bringing positivity in their house.

After a long Covid hiatus our residential courses are now back with so many courses announced from September onward. Online courses will also continue for those who are not able to come to the ashram. IGIYS is looking beautiful and we are now having a large amount of organically grown fruits and vegetables environment.

Growing organic food

What we eat is what makes our body and mind. Every cell in the body and every thought in the mind is made by the food from mother nature. If we have polluted everything from water, air, soil, seeds, leaves, vegetables and fruits then our body and mind will also be polluted.

During covid lockdowns we decided to grow 100 % organic produce in the ashram. We neither wanted to use pesticide nor fertilizer nor GMO seeds. Instead we acquired traditionally preserved seeds, ashram cow dung, cow urine, and some other natural leaves of trees in the ashram. We are very happy to inform you that we have made it possible and are now growing more than 15 varieties of fruits, 4 types of grains, 3 legumes, 3 nuts, 4 beans and 12 different vegetables. All of this produce has the special ashram energy and is inviting you all back to the ashram again.

Apart from being in the garden we were kept busy with sharing yoga.

IGIYS Seva activities

Indira Gandhi Institute Of Yog Services (igiys) has always shared what we can with the surrounding villages, in fact one of the main reasons we had to start online courses was to be able to continue to support those around us. We recently distributed 1450 school bags to the children in the surrounding villages. We also distributed pens, pencils, rulers and erasers. The children were very excited to receive these gifts.

We have been regularly distributing clothes and every time a group of students give donations (recently a group from Singapore), we share in the best possible way. Also for every festival we try to distribute some food supplies, especially with Diwali coming up very soon.


On the occasion of Diwali IGIYS cooked and distributed sweets and snacks to tribal villages of Bangalore around the state. About 2500 families received the sweets and best wishes from Indira Gandhi Institute Of Yog Services (IGIYS Director) Shri Pankaj Thakur donated half of the amount and the remaining money was donated by the Mannat Society (NGO).


We are now running yoga therapy programs in "HOME YOGA SERVICE" for individuals. The programs involve specialised yoga therapy, naturopathy, specifically tailored diet and other treatments.
